OVERVIEW
Bubbl is a mobile app that helps children ages 5–10 explore emotions, body safety, and personal boundaries through playful interaction, drawing, and a lovable AI-powered mascot. It bridges communication between children and parents with a parent-led design, mood tracking, and educational tools that make hard conversations easier.
Problem / User Personas
Young children often struggle to express complex feelings or understand personal boundaries—especially around sensitive topics like bullying or body safety. Parents want to support their kids emotionally but often lack age-appropriate tools and confidence to start these conversations. Existing resources are either too clinical, too passive, or not built for regular, shared use between child and parent.

Designing Bubbl taught me how to approach sensitive topics like emotional safety with empathy and creativity. One of the main challenges was making complex ideas like boundaries and feelings, simple and engaging for young users. I explored child-friendly UI, soft colour palettes, and interactive mascots to create a safe and playful experience.
This project also helped me grow as a designer by balancing the needs of both children and adults. I learned the importance of accessibility, guided interaction, and building trust through thoughtful design. If I were to take Bubbl further, I’d collaborate with child experts and add personalized learning paths to make the experience even more supportive.
